Therapeutic massage encompasses both Swedish and Deep Tissue bodywork. Light to firm touch is used to release tension, relax muscles, increase blood and lymph circulation, and calm the body.

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve circulation and reduce tension. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue. It is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to have the client remain comfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is quite common after the treatment, and plenty of water should be ingested to flush and remove toxins that are released from the tissues as the therapist works deeper.

Hot Stone Therapy

60 minutes: $85
90 minutes: $115

Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are used to deepen relaxation and promote circulation. The stones become an extension of the therapist's hand, to work and soothe the muscles, releasing muscle stiffness and tension quicker and deeper than with a traditional massage. The heated stones allow the therapist access to the deeper muscle layers, providing a healing and effective experience. They also work to expand blood vessels through the warmth, therefore encouraging blood flow throughout the body. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.

Certain health conditions are contraindicated for Hot Stone Therapy, so a special waiver needs to be signed before treatment.

Cold Stone Therapy

30 minutes: $55

Cold Stone Therapy promotes a variety of health benefits. It is ideal for headache and migraine sufferers, as well as for sports injuries, as it reduces pain and swelling and accelerates healing.  Cold stones placed on the face help alleviate sinus congestion as well as reduce under eye bags and dark circles. Menstrual bloating and pain can also be relieved by cold stones. Clients who suffer from high blood pressure may also benefit. Cold stones help to pull excess heat out of inflamed areas, reducing inflammation, and allowing natural healing processes to begin. Overall, cold stones can improve mood---lifting depression, decreasing anxiety and generally increasing energy levels.

Give cold stone a try today!  Experience a 30 minute session specifically for headaches & migraines, or add cold stones into your regular session.

Contrast Stone Therapy

60 minutes: $85
90 minutes: $115

Contrast Stone Therapy is the application of hot and cold stones, utilizing quick changes in temperature to help with pain and injury recovery. It can decrease pain, increase circulation, and speed healing.  Contrast therapy is beneficial for sports injuries, but also for chronic conditions.

Heat application brings blood to the area, which has a two-fold effect.  First, it increases circulation and fills blood vessels down to the smallest capillaries with fresh blood, reducing pain, tension, and muscle cramping. Second, it brings new nutrients to the area while speeds the healing process. Physiologically, heat is a vasodilator – bringing nutrient rich blood to surface areas – and cold is a vasoconstrictor – driving blood to the body’s core – nourishing and protecting the inner organs of the body. Used alone, heat helps to relax aching muscles, while cold reduces inflammation and inhibits pain.

Prenatal & Postpartum

30 minutes: $45
60 minutes: $75
90 minutes: $105

Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Prenatal massage is therapeutic style of bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the changes of pregnancy. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, prenatal bodywork helps release the stress and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. This gentle, noninvasive approach relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling). The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.

Postpartum Massage benefits include easing muscle tension and stress from delivery, relief from anxiety, pain, postpartum blues and depression, toning of the belly, decrease in need for medication, support of healthy lactation, help in cleansing the body of extra fluid and toxins, and can help in healing of Caesarean section scar.

Please note that separate prenatal and postpartum intake forms are required before your session.
